According to the internet hate machine, Lin has no acting experience, a squeaky childish voice, and a modern voice. Also, she’s Taiwanese, which is probably 95% of the enmity. It seems that over 10,000 people have signed a petition in protest. Personally, I don’t see the point. It’s not like anyone has ever heard the real Xiao Qiao speak. It seems perfectly logical that John Woo would choose a hot actress to play a legendary beauty.
