After half a year of surveys of wedding photography studios, professional magazines and websites across China, the top ten best-selling wedding dress brands were finally announced at the opening ceremony of the 2007 China International Wedding Expo in Beijing on Friday.
The ten brands highest on the list include Cai Meiyue and Yunshang Wedding Gowns from Taiwan, the Mingrui Group from Guangdong and Qipao from Beijing Princess Qipao Company. The qipao is one of the most typical, traditional dresses worn by Chinese women.
The expo will last three days.
Statistics from the Civil Affairs Ministry show that approximately 10 million people get married in China every year, spending up to a total of 35 billion US dollars on their weddings.
