Lin Chi-ling asked for more creativity from reporters

The hottest women in Taiwanese showbiz seemed to be vying for attention on the red carpet at the 28th Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony.

Taiwanese top model, nominee of "Best New Act" for her performance in Red Cliff, appeared in a classy but sexy low-cut golden gown,. In reply to marriage rumours with Taiwanese businessman Qiu Shi-kai, she said, "The papers fabricated the news. This rumor has been spreading for four to five years. I believe they can come up with something more creative."

Taiwanese artistes who were in Hong Kong for the ceremony included director, male and female lead for award winning Taiwan movie Cape No.7 and female lead of Connected, Barbie Hsu. Much attention was also aroused when rumored couple, Jaycee Chan and Fiona Sit, appeared together hand-in-hand on the red carpet.

Appearing as couples, were John Woo and wife, Donnie Yen and wife, and, Nicky Cheung and wife Esther Kwan. Sammo Hung, who was with his wife, Joyce Godenzi, has not appeared before the cameras for a long-time, added surprise and glamour to the award ceremony.

Hung said, "I'm really excited, but I have no idea why. Perhaps it's because I've not seen so many people in a long time."

Chinese actress, Tang Wei, who made a mark with her performance in Lust Caution, stunned the crowd in her bright red gown; Karena Lam appeared in a purplish-blue long gown worth HK$3million (about S$600,000); and veteran Sandra Ng just bedazzled everybody with her HK$5million (about S$1million) necklace.
