Chi-ling: No guy asks me out

One would assume that Lin Chi-ling, who is called "the most beautiful woman in Taiwan", is never short of suitors. That's not really the case, said the long-haired beauty when she's in Hong Kong recently. As usual, her love life continues to be a subject of interest for the media who were present, with many quizzing about her relationship with her former flames, businessman Scott Qiu and actor Jerry Yan. The 37-year-old maintained that she's still single and denied that she has reignited her romance with Qiu. As for Yan, 35, she replied with a smile: "Why am I asked the same question whenever I'm in Hong Kong?" Feel free to interpret what she said next: "There're too many girls that are after him." Unlike her one-time rumoured beau, Lin said she doesn't have any suitor right now. "No, I think no guy dares to woo me. I don't understand why. Some told me that I'm too busy and I don't have the time to know

Jerry Yan refuses to talk about Lin Chi-ling

The actor who recently returned from Japan was bombarded with questions regarding his rumoured girlfriend Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan had been rumoured to be dating model Lin Chi-ling since 2005, and the pair's relationship with each other had always been the focus of media attention. Recently, Jerry was in Japan for two meet-the-fans sessions. Coincidentally, Chi-ling was also in the country to film her new drama The 101th Proposal. When the actor returned to Taiwan two days ago, the media probed if he had met up with Chi-ling in Japan. However, the actor, who wore a face mask, lowered his head and left the customs in a hurry with his luggage. Previously, Chi-ling's father reportedly praised Jerry for being the "pride of Taiwan", sparking speculations that Mr Lin is trying to coax Jerry into marrying his daughter. When asked to comment on the marriage rumour, Jerry kept silent. As the actor exited the airport, reporters bombarded him with questions like if h

The media has long been intrigued over the possibility of a rekindled romance between the nation’s most famous heartthrob, Jerry Yan (言承旭), and its top female supermodel, Lin Chi-ling (林志玲). Yan supposedly never got over Lin after they first broke up. Lin is said to have broken up with a previous suitor, Scott Chiu (邱士楷), the son of a toilet magnate, and has hinted to reporters that she still has a soft spot for Yan. And now, recent comments by Lin’s father, Lin Fan-nan (林繁男), are fanning the flames once again. Interviewed by reporters at a charity auction, the elder Lin praised Yan as “the light of Taiwan” (台灣之光), referring to the actor/model’s popularity in Japan, which was underlined earlier this week when 8,000 fans in Tokyo showed up for a public stadium appearance by Yan. The Apple Daily asked if the elder Lin’s words could be taken as an endorsement — wouldn’t “the light of Taiwan” and Taiwan’s number one model make a perfect married couple? But his answer was vague and ci

Not only did he steal the limelight from lead actor Mark Chao, Jerry was always seen by the director's side, and had his arms around the latter's shoulders. After two hours, Tsai, who could not hold his liquor, became drunk. Jerry then turned his attention to model Tang Guo Zhong, a friend whom he had known for 10 years. The two chatted through the night and left the party together when it ended. When Jerry and Guo Zhong noticed that reporters were trailing their car, they asked a friend, who was on a motorcycle, to help make way for them.
