Lin Chi-ling looking for love. Any offers Jerry Yan?

Supermodel Lin Chi-ling (林志玲) is open to offers. She told reporters at a commercial event in Taichung on Thursday that all she wants for Christmas is a boyfriend. This suggests that her proposed marriage to toilet maker Scott Qiu (邱士楷) is off and the heir to the HCG Corporation (和成集團) is no longer her lover. The timing of Chi-ling’s statement is interesting because the 36-year-old belle’s ex, actor Jerry Yan (言承旭), has publicly declared he still has feelings for her. He has blamed himself for their breakup on various occasions and on a recent variety show was in tears when talking about her. Reporters on Thursday showed Chi-ling the video clip of Jerry breaking down on the show, and the model’s reaction was wide-eyed. She commented that Jerry has both “sense and sensibility” and added the pair were still communicating by SMS. Source: QQ.com Categories: News Star-Wiki: Taichung: Dec 24 2010

Supermodel Lin Chiling ordered to pay NT$6.84m in tax case

Supermodel Lin Chiling ordered to pay NT$6.84m in tax case Posted: 08 October 2010 1303 hrs TAIPEI: Taiwan model-actress Lin Chiling has been ordered to pay NT$6.84 million (S$290,000) in taxes owed after losing a lawsuit brought against her by Taiwan tax authorities on Thursday, reported Taiwan media. Taiwan tax authorities previously found that the supermodel, who makes about NT$70 million (S$2.9 million) annually, had paid NT$6.84 million less tax than she was supposed to between 2003 and 2005. Lin had argued that her income should be seen as "Professional Practice Income" and that a portion of her costs can be deducted before tax is levied on the remainder. However, taxation officers believed that her income should still be seen as "Earned Income", which meant Lin was entitled to a much more modest tax deduction. The courts eventually ruled against Lin. The tax authorities had initially wanted to fine Lin an additional NT$1.35 million (S$57,000) for...

Patty Hou loses out to Lin Chiling

For celebrities, wearing similar clothes can be a boon or a bane depending on how well they carry it off. In Patty Hou's case, perhaps she should have chosen a different dress: she wore a Vivienne Westwood low-cut dress which supermodel Lin Chiling had wore one year ago. Chiling last wore the dress during a screening of Red Cliff 2 in Japan a year ago, while Patty wore it in a recent product endorsement event. And if wearing an outdated dress is not embarrassing enough, reporters even caught sight of Patty's bulging tummy in that dress, leading to speculations that the Taiwanese host is now expecting. Chi-ling has just finished up filming the Japanese drama Moon Lovers with Takuya Kimura and is currently taking a break in China. She even brought along her entire family from Taiwan in case the local paparazzi give them trouble. Yes to Lin Chiling, no to Lady Gaga

NO doubt Lady Gaga is now the world's hottest pop sensation, but she may not be every man's dream girl. For one, Ian Chen, the leader of Taiwanese rock trio F.I.R., said the Grammy winner is way too bold, dramatic and over-the-top for him. Instead, a girl with the looks and charisma of Taiwanese model-actress Lin Chiling will be a better choice of girlfriend, Chen quipped. Click here to find out more!Click here to find out more! But Lady Gaga definitely gets his thumbs up for her talent in music and costume design. The band, which is slated for a concert here in July has seen a Lady Gaga concert, and is certainly inspired to adapt some of her visual elements into its own concert here. Singaporeans can also look forward to Stefanie Sun's guest appearance at F.I.R's concert on 9 July 2010. What else is in store for their fans in Singapore?
