"Malan Flower" premiers in Beijing

The animated film "Malan Flower" premiered in Beijing on Tuesday afternoon. Adapted from the stage play of the same name, Malan Flower is among the films celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China.

The premiere was attended by actress Chen Hao, and also Li Yang, who performed the voice of Donald Duck in the Disney Cartoon "Mickey Mouse".

The children's song Malan Flower comes from the dance drama of the same name. Having premiered fifty years ago, the dance drama is one of the classics among children productions in China. The animated film keeps the flavor of the dance drama while at the same time incorporates many current themes, such as environmental protection and living in harmony.

The film is regarded as a Chinese-style narrative, containing classic Chinese music in a modern presentation.

Many big stars have lent their voice to the film including basketball player Yao Ming, actor Leon Lai, and actresses Lin Chiling and Chen Hao.
