Lin Chi-ling loses $10,000 watch after luggage got broken into at Malaysia customs

The pair flew in from Beijing to Malaysia on Monday night and the During the Malaysian stopover for the Asian promotional of her new movie The Treasure Hunter, Lin Chi-ling discovered at her hotel that her luggage had been pried open without permission at the airport, and her watch, said to be worth about S$10,000 was stolen.

Previously in Beijing event, Chi-ling, along with co-star Jay Chou, flew in to Malaysia last Monday via China Airlines, CA971 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at around 10pm. Despite her seat in business class, the actress only made her way out of the customs after close to an hour with her crew and nine pieces of personal luggage.

The 1.74m tall model-actress only realized that her luggage lock had been tampered with when she checked into her hotel, and that her watch was missing. She hurriedly called the film representative to check with the Malaysian customs.

"One day ago, there was nothing wrong when we were undergoing the checks at Beijing. How can it disappear just like that in Malaysia! I am a little unhappy."

Her manager said, "Chi-ling has always been very careful. She has flown all over the place but has never encountered a situation like this. There are nine luggages but hers was broken into. I suspect that something might have happened at the Malaysian customs?"
